Report: Truck Hanging Off I-93, Traffic Backed Up

State Police and Boston Fire responded to the scene around 2 p.m. Friday.

A truck crash on I-93 northbound through Boston caused seriously traffic backups on Friday afternoon.

According to early reports from Massachusetts State Police, the cab of a truck, reportedly a beer delivery vehicle, broke through the guardrail and was hanging over the Leverett Connector ramp between exits 26 and 28 near Charlestown.

The Exit 28 ramp to Sullivan Square and the left, high-speed lane of I-93 northbound were closed at around 2:30 p.m. Friday, and State Police and Boston Fire Department officials were at the scene, according to reports.

The cab and a few feet of the truck’s trailer appeared to be hanging off the elevated highway, according to State Police reports.
