Recent Robberies Similar, Likely Unrelated

Be careful coming back from the Community College T Stop late at night.

An bore a close resemblance to another recent crime, but may not be connected.

Boston Police reported that, on Sunday around 9:30 p.m., two men and a woman attacked a female victim on Monument Street. The woman told police (and later Charlestown Patch) that she had recently left the Community College T station.

Sgt. Tom Lema said that another woman reported a on Saturday, Nov. 19.

She told police that two men and a woman “punched her to the ground” and robbed her on Dunstable Street after she left the Community College station. The crime occurred around 8:15 p.m., Lema said, and both women were under 35.

While the two crimes sound similar, Lema said they differ on important details. Sunday’s victim described her assailants as African-American. The earlier victim, Lema said, described her assailants as possibly white or Hispanic.

Both crimes remain under investigation, Lema said.

Thanks for all the great reporting on this. These types of things are thankfully relatively uncommon in Charlestown, but when they do happen, its good to get as much information as possible.

What about the women who was held at knife-point knocked to the ground robbed of her pocket book and then...smashed in the face with a bottle! She has a 2 " scar under her eye and afraid to leave the house! So, not the "third similar crime" its an ongoing problem!
