Man Attempts To Rob Dunkin' Donuts with Spoon

An on-duty MBTA police officer reportedly stopped the suspect.

[UPDATE Monday, 3:21 p.m.]

An on-duty transit officer arrested a man after he allegedly tried to rob a Charlestown Dunkin’ Donuts with a spoon Saturday evening.

The suspect, identified as Michael Wallace, reportedly threatened cashiers at the Cambridge Street store with what appeared to be a knife. Police later found that the man had been holding a spoon with the rounded end out like a blade, according to an interview on WHDH.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, Jan. 5, according to a Metro Boston story. Wallace was identified as a 35-year-old Boston resident.

Officer Matthew Donovan with the MBTA Police entered the store during the incident and was able to stop the suspect, according to WHDH.
