Robert F. Kelley: Commercial Fisherman, Longtime Charlestown Resident

Visiting hours will be held at the Carr Funeral Home in Charlestown on Tuesday.

Robert F. Kelley, a 30 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of South Boston, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge following a lengthy illness. He was 65 years old.

Bob was born in Boston on April 5, 1949, a son of the late John Kelley and Mildred (Trefry) Kelley. He grew up in South Boston where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Brighton High School. Bob worked as a commercial fisherman most of his adult life and his passion was the ocean. He was very involved with St. Catherine's Church Color Guard several years ago and also enjoyed gardening, cooking and riding his bike around Charlestown.

Bob is the loving husband of 44 years to Clare R. (Nauer) Kelley. He is the devoted father of Robert Kelley, April Kelley and Michelle Kelley all of Charlestown. He is the beloved brother of William Kelley, James Kelley and the late Paul Kelley and John Kelley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob's visiting hours on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His Funeral Service and burial is private.
