Navy Yard Views

Did you know that the Charlestown Mothers Association has 1,050 moms with 1,200 children and there are approximately 143 CMA moms in the Navy Yard? Free ticket to the CMA Gala claim it here.

Welcome to the blog Navy Yard Views.   Views provides you with an inside look to what is going on in and around the Yard.  A “blog” has several definitions but the main purpose of the Navy Yard Views is to get your opinions, comments,  news or any other information that you would like to share. The hot topic in the yard is the Conservation Commission hearings regarding the “conditions in the Shipyard Quarters Marina”.  Having a long standing career in real estate I have attended a number of hearings at City Hall but never one that was quite so lively as the hearing on 10/17.  If you CARE plan to attend the next hearing which will be posted once the date is confirmed.  City representatives in attendance (too many to name) made it clear - it’s time for Oliner, a real estate developer, to step up to the plate and provide proper maintenance in the Yard.  Becoming a “good neighbor” was also a suggestion as Charlestown is a small community - only one square mile.  A fine of $25,000 per DAY will be levied if a
satisfactory response to the state of disrepair is not provided.

Did you know that the Charlestown Mothers Association has 1,050 moms with 1,200 children and there are approximately 143 CMA moms in the Navy Yard?  Clearly one of the more influential groups in our community!  There is a complimentary ticket available to the CMA Annual Gala and Fundraiser being held on Saturday night November 3rd.  This ticket will go to the first person who posts a comment to the blog NYV.  In the next Views an interview with CMA Co-President Rebecca Love.

The 4th annual Dirty Harry’s Howl-een party was a big success.  Even the folks that are not dog owners who came over to check it out were quite impressed.  My favorite costume was a Newfie dressed up as tinker bell - check out the photos in Patch.  I just learned that my neighbor’s beloved golden retriever did not make it to celebrate Halloween this year.   Do you have any encouraging words for those who have recently lost a beloved pet?  Dr. Seuss says "Don't cry because it's over.  Smile because it happened".
