Jack Kelly Campaign Gets Strong Labor Support

On this labor day, Boston City Councilor at-Large Candidate Jack Kelly is proud to announce his most recent union endorsements by Boston Firefighters Local 718 and SEIU 888. These unions join many other local unions who are supporting Jack's bid for a seat on the Boston City Council.

In endorsing Mr. Kelly, President of Teamsters Local 25, Sean O’Brien said: “Jack’s community leadership and dedication to issues concerning the middle class make him a champion of labor.”

Jack Kelly is the only candidate in the At-Large City Council race who still holds a building trades book, and remains a member of Ironworkers Union Local 7.  In accepting the endorsements, Jack Kelly said: “Coming from a family of union members and as a member of the Local 7 Ironworkers, I appreciate the efforts of unions to ensure that the voices of working families are heard.  I believe that all men and women who work hard should earn a fair and prevailing wage. I am committed to fiscal responsibility, but I also believe people who work hard should be secure in their retirement and should not run the risk of financial ruin due to illness or other unforeseeable events.”
