Resident To Run Boston Marathon for Literacy

Charlestown resident chooses to benefit Jumpstart.

How many of us have a bucket list? Similar to a new years resolution but lasts longer than 14 days and is more achievement based rather than a specific lifestyle change. For Kaitlyn Greeley, 2012 is the year to cross off a good handful of her bucket list items. The biggest so far this year, running and completing the Boston Marathon. Kaitlyn Greeley, a Boston native and a political and nonprofit activist throughout Boston is dreaming big this year, and not just about the marathon but for Boston schools.

As a first time marathon runner, Kaitlyn finds the most motivation in the charity she will be running for, Jumpstart. Working for Jumpstart in her college years, Kaitlyn experienced firsthand the benefits of the program for children who needed that extra hand in literacy and learning.

"The impact Jumpstart has had on my life is something I am appreciative daily. My insatiable desire to contribute to this world in an impactful way grew very strongly throughout my years of working with the children and families of Jumpstart"

Along with running the marathon and raising money for Jumpstart, Kaitlyn has taken on another challenge. For every donor that donates to her cause, Kaitlyn will host a book drive in the donors name for Boston Public Schools with a priority given to Headstart/Jumpstart.
