When is the Red Sox Parade?

See where Saturday's rolling party will go.

Once again, we'll have a parade in this town.

Mayor Thomas Menino announced the date, time and route of the Red Sox victory parade in Boston. The announcement comes the morning after Boston won its eighth World Series.

"The ducks are ready, the fans are ready, the city is ready; let's celebrate!," said Menino during a Thursday morning press conference announcing the parade.

As is tradition in this era of champions, the players, coaches and families will ride on Duck boats from Boston Duck Tours. The parade starts at Fenway Park at 10 a.m. and will head down Boylston Street from the Fens through Back Bay, turning onto Tremont Street and heading toward City Hall Plaza. This year, the ducks will continue down Cambridge Street toward the Museum of Science, where they'll splash down into the Charles River, cruising up and down the banks, just as they did when the Red Sox won in 2004.

"We're going to be handing out gifts to children along the route," said Red Sox Co-owner Tom Werner.

This is the city's eighth championship parade in 12 years, starting with the Patriots Super Bowl win in 2002. Fans were last treated to a rolling rally in 2011, when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.
