Lenny Clarke, Local Comics Host an "(Up)Beat Comedy Night" to Benefit Joe Andruzzi Foundation's Boston Marathon® Charity Runners

The only cramps the Joe Andruzzi Foundation's "TEAM JAF" Boston Marathon runners will feel on Thursday, April 17 will be from laughing too hard- as funnyman Lenny Clarke and a cast of New England's best comics host an "(Up)Beat Comedy Night" fundraiser in Walpole.

All proceeds raised through the event- hosted at Raffael's (1601 Main Street, Walpole, MA), which has been generously donated by co-owner Joe Bartucca for one night- will support the Foundation's 48-member running team. The night of comedy will also spread the Foundation's (UP)Beat philosophy, which stresses the importance of a positive attitude in the face of adversity.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online for the event, which will kick-off with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. before the 8:00 p.m. comedy show.

Sponsored by the John Hancock Non-Profit Program, Team JAF- made up of a diverse group of cancer survivors, athletes, veteran marathoners and those running in memory of loved ones- is dedicated to raising funds in support of JAF's mission to alleviate cancer's financial burdens on patients and families, while also funding critical pediatric brain cancer research at Boston Children's Hospital.

Team JAF- supported in part by East Commerce Solutions and Millennium Pharmaceuticals - has raised more than $245,000 for the Foundation to date.

In addition to Clarke, local comedians Steve Sweeney, Tony V, Graig Murphy, Artie Januario, Christine Hurley, Kelly MacFarland, Dave Russo, and Frank Santorelli are scheduled to perform. Cancer survivor and Joe Andruzzi Foundation president Joe Andruzzi and his wife Jen, Foundation Executive Director will also be in attendance, as will members of Team JAF.
