Playspace returns to St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish

The indoor winter Playspace at St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish has returned for the 2013 season! For those not familiar with this popular program, Playspace is a play group open to the entire Charlestown community, based out of the Parish Center Hall. The Hall is located at 46 Winthrop Street. Playspace will be open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 a.m., beginning Thursday, January 8, and ending Thursday, May 16.

Playspace is for children ages 6 months to 2.9.  The space is filled with educational toys, including centers for active play, building, trains, dramatic play, art, reading and more.  There is also an area dedicated to infant play for younger children. Moms, dads, grandparents, nannies, sitters, au pairs and other caregivers may come with their children.  Please note this is not a drop-off, babysitting service. The adults responsible for the children are expected to stay and play an active role in monitoring the behavior of the children.

To ensure that the play group can cover its expenses, we need a minimum of 65 families to sign up as members.  The requested donation amount to participate in Playspace is $120 per family, for the 4.5 month period.  Payment should be made payable to “St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena.”

If you are interested in signing up for the play group, or if you have any questions, please email the Playspace coordinator, Amanda Fornash at amanda12878@yahoo.com. You can mail or drop off your donation to St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish Center at 46 Winthrop Street in Charlestown to the attention of Amanda Fornash.

To allow for an enjoyable environment for all, the Playspace will likely limit members to 100 families, so please sign up ASAP. See you in January!
