Book Signing with Dr. Noelle Granger

Join us at Haven this Wednesday to pick up a signed copy of Dr. Noelle Granger's new mystery novel, "Death in a Red Canvas Chair". Enjoy refreshments, do a little shopping, and chat with the Dr. Granger. We hope to see you there!

Dr. Noelle Granger has spent a distinguished career in higher education primarily at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where she is a Professor Emerita of Anatomy and Cell Biology. She grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts in a sprawling 19th century house, and often sailed the waters off the New England coast. She has edited several important medical textbooks, (such as Netter’s Atlas of Anatomy) and once even served as the medical and scientific advisor to Jonathan Demme’s infamous academy award winning classic, The Silence of the Lambs. She now lives with her husband in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Her first mystery book, Death in a Red Canvas Chair, (which was published late last year) is set in the fictional seemingly peaceful seaside town of Pequod, Maine. Rhe Brewster, her protagonist, is a tall, attractive emergency room nurse with a nose for investigation and a yen for adrenalin. This time her nose leads her to the wet, decaying body of a young woman, sitting in a chair at the far end of her son’s soccer field. She is determined to find the killer despite her husband’s objections and attempts on her life. This book is the first in what will become a compelling series featuring Nurse Brewster, and book two will be published later this Fall.
