ArtWeek Boston: oneMIC (ONE Moment Inspiring Creativity)

Citi Performing Arts Center's Education Department invites the Boston community to explore their creative talents on Saturday, April 26th at oneMIC - One Moment Inspiring Creativity". As part of ArtWeek Boston, Citi Center is partnering with LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston and Community Auditions to offer guests memorable artistic experiences within one of the City's most historic performing arts venue, the Citi Wang Theatre.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston activities will occur in the Wang Theatre Grand Lobby from 10AM-1PM allowing visitors a sneak peek experience before its official Somerville location opens in May. Children can build from LEGO brick pits and watch demonstrations by the new LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Boston Master LEGO Brick Builder Ian Coffey. A special "Boston, Built By Me" activity invites participants to create a Boston neighborhood using LEGO bricks where they can submit their creative entries for a chance to win a oneMIC prize pack!

From 1PM-3PM, members of the community can showcase their vocal and musical talents on the world-famous Citi Wang Theatre Stage for a chance to appear on Community Auditions "Star of the Day" the Emmy Award winning New England talent show. Musical artists and acts can register online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/oneMICCommunityAuditionsRegistration to ensure a scheduled performance time. Day-of audition registration ill be available on location. At the conclusion of the auditions, the

newly-announced host of Community Auditions Star of the Day will award five "golden ticket" winners. These winners will be guaranteed a spot to compete on the Community Auditions Star of the Day television program, which airs throughout New England.

"As part of ArtWeek Boston, we are opening the doors to the Citi Wang Theatre to ignite a spark in everyone, no matter their age, to capture their 'One Moment Inspiring Creativity.' We are very excited to celebrate the creative spirit within everyone during our oneMIC event," says Josiah Spaulding, President & CEO, Citi Performing Arts Center.

The free event provides guests with a special opportunity to experience the historic Citi Wang Theatre, and for some, to perform on its iconic stage. OneMIC will include other interactive activities, including an Autograph Wall to sign  and paparazzi photos taken by Pretty Instant PPhotography.

This is a free community event and is appropriate for all ages. RSVPs are highly encouraged by not required. For more information, visit http://www.citicenter.org/onemic.
