Two Schools, Two Open Houses for the Neighborhood

The Harvard-Kent and Warren Prescott open their doors to the community this week.

Today is Monday, Nov. 7. Here are five things you need to know today. 

1. Both of the neighborhood's elementary schools are opening their doors this week so the community can get a look inside. The evening at 6 p.m. You can get more details at . And the , starting at 12:30. Read more about that event . 

2. Are you looking to mingle with other business people in the neighborhood? One of your would-be cohorts is organizing a networking event for this Thursday morning. Get and get in touch with him to participate.

3. This Friday is Veterans Day and I'm guessing that's one reason why is bringing afternoon. Seats are limited for this event, so if you're interested, you've got to RSVP. O'Brien has written extraordinary stuff about Vietnam. If you can't make the event, at least get your hands on a copy of The Things They Carried, one of my all-time favorite books.

4. The Globe published its "top places to work" list for 2011 over the weekend. Did your employer make the cut? If not, you might want to consider applying to one of these organizations.
