Photo of the Day: Thursday, March 22

Today's photo comes from Alison Morris, who described it quite simply as "#Charlestown, Bunker Hill."

Would you like to participate in our Photo of the Day feature? E-mail your photo to mattc@patch.com (or text it to 781.715.3584 or upload it to our community gallery), and try to include a little bit of an explanation, if possible.

Photo of the Day is by readers, for readers, and we will publish submissions as fast as we can.

If you look closely at the photo you might notice that the Bunker Hill Monument is slightly to the left of center from the middle of Monument Avenue. That is because the Bostonians who had much to do the building of the monument wanted Monument Ave to be 50 feet wide but Charlesown town officials said 50 feet was too wide and so today it is only thirty feet wide and not in the exact location of where the Bostonians wanted it.
