HMS Dauntless Docked in Charlestown Navy Yard

Come see one of the newer ships in the British Navy docked next to the oldest ship in the U.S. Navy.

The HMS Dauntless will be docked in the Charlestown Navy Yard until Thursday. The British battleship is a Type 45 Destroyer, one of the most advanced warships in the world. And she is docked right next to the oldest ship in the U.S. Navy.

"It is a pleasure to be docked next to The Constitution," Lt. Peter Ellison said. "This is The Dauntless's first deployment. She makes berth in Portsmouth in the U.K."

The Dauntless left Portsmouth in April and headed south to work along side West African navies to aid in counter pirate and narcotics operations. They sailed east to the Caribbean, where they aided the U.S. Navy and the Coast Guard in counter narcotics operations as well. They took part in the UNITAS training exercise in Key West, FL, which is geared towards training navies from 18 different countries in drug/human smuggling exercises.
