1. Charlestown Youth Hockey annual comedy night fundraiser

3. An Evening with Bill Cosby

Why Go: Bill, we're still a little upset that you've abandoned your trademark sweaters in favor of button-ups and ties, but we're willing to let it go as long as you promise to mention puddin' pops at least once. Deal?

Why Go: Chefs will prepare soups from locally-sourced ingredients as an “Empty Bowls” fundraiser for Haley House’s Soup Kitchen in the South End. There will be two sessions for this event, the first at 1-3 p.m. and the second at 4-6 p.m. Vegetarian and vegan soup options will be available among the selections. Guests will receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl made by students in MassArt’s Clay for Change program. During the event, guests can use their bowls to sample soups from several stations. At the end of the event, they’re invited to take their bowls home with them.
