[UPDATE Wednesday, 9:46 a.m.]
Santa Claus is coming to Charlestown this weekend.
The Charlestown Chamber of Commerce’s annual Holiday Stroll will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, starting at 10 a.m. with a visit from jolly ol’ Saint Nick at Preservation Park.
Throughout the day, businesses and organizations around Charlestown will offer special promotions, activities and other events as part of the community celebration.
At 10 a.m., a trolley donated by Diversified Automotive/Auto Port and sponsored by Charlestown Against Drugs (CHAD) will deliver Santa Claus to Preservation Park, where he will be available to meet with children of all ages.
The Cooperative Bank and Charlestown Patch are sponsoring Santa’s visit.
From 10 a.m. until around 4 p.m., people can visit stops on the official Holiday Stroll map, marking off each place as they visit. Maps are printed in the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge and will also be available during the stroll.
Those who mark off all the stops on their maps can be entered to win prizes during a drawing at 4:15 p.m. at Preservation Park. Be sure to drop off completed maps in Santa's map box before the drawing.
A free trolley will be picking up and dropping off people at MBTA bus stops along Main and Bunker streets throughout the Holiday Stroll.
