Charlestown Election 2012 Afternoon Update

Check back throughout the day for election coverage, photos, and local election results from Charlestown.

Here is a quick update from each of the polling places in Charlestown:

  • Zelma Lacey School House at 9 West School Street: Precinct 1 had 808 votes at 2:40 p.m.. The peak hour of voters was between 7 and 9 a.m..
  • Harvard/Kent School at 50 Bunker Hill Street: Precinct 2 had 790 votes. Precinct 4 had 527 votes at 2:55 p.m.. The peak hour of voters was between 8 and 10 a.m.. Election Inspector Len Dorrian said, "I've never heard so many people say 'This is my first time voting' before."
  • Clarence R. Edwards Middle School at 28 Walker Street: Precinct 5 had 765. Precinct 6 had 883 at 2:55 p.m.. The peak hour of voters was between 7 and 9 a.m.. 
  • Golden Age Senior Center at 382 Main Street: Precinct 3 had 610 votes at 2:35 p.m.. The peak hour of voters was between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m..
