With respect, I have some objections to "mom's groups." While I appreciate your place as a community bulletin board, I am often troubled that there is no editorial challenge to advertising this sort of exclusive, which is to say "non-inclusive," invitation. I commented at length to a story in the south end patch several months ago. If you are interested, my general position was laid out in comments, user heehaw, at http://southend.patch.com/blog_posts/six-reasons-to-join-a-new-moms-group As you know, the general social and family dynamics of your ctown constituency have and continue to change. Maybe you could take an editorial lead in recognizing the particular change in the way our children are cared for and encourage the fantastic support groups that exist for mothers to consider more inclusive language.
