5 Things: Story Time for 2s and 3s, ZBA Hearing

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Feb. 26 in Charlestown.

1. Partly sunny: Today will be partly sunny with a high near 39 degrees and a low around 31, according to the National Weather Service. The evening will be mostly cloudy with snow likely, mainly after 5 a.m., with less than one inch of accumulation expected.

2. Story time: The Charlestown Branch of the Boston Public Library will host a story time geared toward children ages 2-3 today from 11-11:30 a.m. This weekly program is designed to encourage early literacy. Today’s theme will be “A Is for Animals” and will feature songs, stories and activities about the alphabet. Each child should be accompanied by a participating adult.

3. ZBA Hearing: The Boston Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing today regarding a variance request for 63 Rutherford Ave. The property owner is looking to change the legal occupancy from design studio and office to three-family dwelling. The meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall (1 Cambridge St.), Room 801.

4. LinkedIn 101: Ever wondered how to use the website LinkedIn 101 to network and share your resume with prospective employers and clients? The Boston Public Library will offer a free class on setting up and managing a LinkedIn account today at 2:30 p.m. at the Central Library (700 Boylston St.).

5. Summer jobs: Charlestown teens: Want to earn money and gain important job skills? Applications are now being accepted for Boston’s Summer of Opportunity employment program, which is sponsored by the City of Boston, the Boston Police Department, John Hancock Financial Services and the Boston Police Foundation.
