Today is Wednesday, Dec. 15. Here are three things you need to know today.
1. Clear out your cars
No really — You may be saving yourself a big headache. Officer Robert Luongo, the community service officer for the neighborhood, is warning that car break-ins are on the rise and anything — even a pile of change for the tolls — might prompt a thief to smash a window and steal. "It's the most preventable crime," Luongo says. Just be sure to take everything inside with you when you lock up the car for the night.
2. The girl's got soul
On Wednesdays in January Boston Swing Central will be hosting an All-Girls Soul Routine dance. It's not January yet (though it's feeling a lot like it), but the instructor will be giving a tonight from 8 to 9 p.m. Think of it as a one-day class, if you can't make the dates next month. 3. Need something Christmassy?
Walk over to the North End Library tonight on Parmenter Street. They're showing the 1938 film version of A Christmas Carol with Gene Lockhart and Reginald Owen. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. It's free and open to the public, even if you're from Charlestown.
