There are a lot of great properties for rent in Charlestown. As a local Charlestown and Cambridge roofing contractor, (http://www.olympicroofing.com/cambridge-ma-roofing/), we've had the pleasure of recently performing roofing work on many of the local properties available. We're seeing that Charlestown is definitely an up and coming place for young professionals

It's been up and coming since the late 80's!

Charlestown has always been a warm and friendly place to live. Since the 80's, the properties have seen a revival which warranted increase in desirability and cost. The faces may have changed, but the essence of the community remains.

I have a question. I was reading today's Real Estate section in the Herlad & noticed there was a condo for sale in the "Gaslight District of Charlestown" ?? Since when do we have districts & who decides what that name should be? I ran into a new comer a couple of weeks ago & he also used the term but I shrugged it off as some realtor saying anything to make a sale. Have I missed something?

There are gas lit streets scattered about in Charlestown.... I think the gaslight district=streets around the monument? I live in the "It would be ridiculous if I asked Jenny's to deliver to my house" district.

I live in the gas light district. LF

There is a gaslight district. Mostly on the streets around the Monument. There is one gaslit street at the other end of town. Can't remember which one. Outsiders or people looking to buy or rent consider the gaslight district as the historic district. We have no historic district (really too bad). It is just a perception.

I am looking for parking rental options around or near the monument. Anyone have any suggestions? Would love the old school house lot if possible.
