Charlestown Residents Encouraged to Review Wynn Casino Plans

The Expanded Environmental Notification Form is available online and at the local library.

In an effort to allow Charlestown residents a chance to look over and comment on early plans for Wynn LLC's resort casino in Everett, the city has posted a copy of the environmental notification form online and extended the comment period until Tuesday, July 23.

In a letter to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Boston officials say the city should have been given notice earlier of the plans.

"Review of the Expanded ENF and discussions with the Wynn Resort personnel indicate that the city of Boston may be a host community to the Wynn Resort. As a host or surrounding community to the proposed Wynn Resort, the City of Boston needs to thoroughly review this voluminous filing, understand its impacts on the city of Boston and inform our citizens, particularly the residents of Charlestown, of this large scale development, in order to provide the community and the appropriate city agencies with a meaningful opportunity to review and comment on the Expanded ENF," Boston officials state in the letter.
