According to people who track this stuff, as of November 2012 Facebook has about 1 billion users and more than 42 million pages. That's a lot of people talking, sharing photos and playing Farmville.

Quite a few Charlestown businesses have joined Facebook, where they share updates, deals, photos and other information with people who "like" their pages.
