Explore Boston Area Museums on Free Fun Fridays

Get a taste of the region's best cultural programs this summer.

Charlestown residents can explore 60 of the area's best museums this summer for free thanks to the “Free Fun Fridays” program offered by Highland Street Foundation.

Every week through Friday, Aug. 30, the foundation is footing the bill for admission to six different cultural sites and events in and around Boston, such as the USS Constitution Museum in the Navy Yard on Aug. 16. For most programs, no tickets are required; just show up and get in for free on the designated Friday.

Be sure to check each location’s website or call ahead to verify hours and other information. Some sites may have a parking fee. Some, such as The New Repertory Theatre and the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, require visitors to obtain free tickets in advance.
