Teamsters Local 25 Collecting Toys For Tots

Drop off new, unwrapped children's items at the union hall on Main Street.

Teamsters Local 25 in Charlestown will once again serve as a collection point for the U.S. Marine Corps' annual Toys for Tots holiday campaign.

“We’re proud to partner with the U.S. Marines and Toys for Tots again this year to make the holidays brighter for local children,” said Sean M. O’Brien, president and principal officer, Teamsters Local 25. “Last year we delivered more than four van loads of toys—totaling $75,000—to Toys for Tots, and we’ve set our sights higher this year. The holidays are about giving back and I can’t think of a better present then putting a smile on a child’s face during this time of year.”

Toys can be dropped off to the union hall, located across from the Schrafft’s Building in Charlestown at 544 Main St., during the following times:

  • Mondays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. 4 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon

The collection will run through Saturday, Dec. 15.

Since the program was founded in 1947, every year Toys for Tots provides grateful families nationwide with the joy of a new gift on Christmas. The mission of the Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.

Teamsters Local 25 represents 11,000 members and their families from Massachusetts. More information can be found at teamsterslocal25.com, @teamsters25 or on facebook under Teamsters Boston.
