The inaugural event featured races for kids and adults.

Kids foot races were held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Charlestown High School football field during the first CHAD Turkey Trot.

Up to 50 kids along with their parents attended the event which was put on by Charlestown Against Drugs. Hot chocolate and cider and mini pastries were offered to the runners to give them a little energy and help keep them warm for the races.

City Councilor Ayanna Pressley stopped by and announced the races.

CHAD members handed out 16 turkeys to the winners and offered another turkey to a Charlestown recovery program.

It was a perfect fall day to have races on the football field. The kids’ races ranged in age from 2 to 12 years old (boys and girls).
