A Charlestown family coping with the sudden death of their son and brother is in need of some community support to pay for funeral costs.
Clinton MacDougall, 29, died on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2012, after struggling with addiction, according to friend Shannon Lundin.
Lundin, who works as community outreach coordinator for the Charlestown Substance Abuse Coalition, set up a web page to raise funds to help MacDougall's family during this difficult time.
“Clinton was a a young, loyal, loving man who had struggles but always showed the true meaning of family and friendship,” Lundin wrote on the web page.
Available at gofundme.com, the web page allows people to make donations of any amount toward the goal of raising $3,000 for MacDougall’s funeral costs. As of Thursday afternoon, a total of $1,105 had been donated.
Visitors to the site can also leave words of encouragement for MacDougall’s family.
“This is what Charlestown is all about, coming together when someone is in need and supporting them in their loss,” Lundin wrote in an email.
