Phipps Street Burying Ground Cleanup

The Phipps Street Burying Ground is one of Boston's seven 17th Century cemeteries and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Established in the early decades of the 1600's, the Burying Ground is now acknowledged as an important cultural resource and is open only upon request.  The Charlestown Preservation Society annual gains admittance for a clean-up day in May during Preservation Month.  This year, CPS invites its members and the public to participate in this effort and enjoy rare access to the Burying Ground.

Please join us to help maintain this important and sacred site.  All tools and supplies will be provided however gloves are recommended.  Participants are invited to pack a lunch and enjoy a casual picnic after cleanup.
