Daily 5: July 3 Boston Pops Concert

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Wednesday, July 3 in Charlestown.

1. Slight chance of rain: Wednesday will be cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms could produce heavy rain. High: 86, Low: 71.

2. July 3 concert: The Boston Pops July 4th Concert will be held Wednesday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. on the Esplanade. A second concert, with fireworks, will be held Thursday. Access to the Hatch Shell will be open starting at 4 p.m. This year’s event will feature performances by all Massachusetts natives, including Susan Tedeschi, Howie Day, Ayla Brown, Ellis Hall, Keith Lockhart, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and, of course, the Boston Pops. 3. Waterfront meeting: The Charlestown Waterfront Coalition meets at 7 p.m. at Building 114 in the Navy Yard on the first Wednesday of the month.

4. Job search help: Neighbors helping Neighbors USA meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Boston Public Library’s Central Branch (700 Boylston St.). The free, peer-led group helps individuals in their job search.

5. Volunteers needed: Volunteers are needed for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Sunday, Sept. 29, beginning at Canal Park at the CambridgeSide Galleria in Cambridge.  For more information, visit www.alzwalkMANH.org (click on the Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s, then click on “Volunteers”).
