The Charlestown Neighborhood Council is supporting a request by Courageous Sailing to host events this summer on Pier 4, according to the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge.

Courageous Sailing, which works to provide low-cost sailing-based youth development opportunities to children and families throughout Boston, is looking to hold about 20 events in all, 10 in the daytime and 10 during the evening.

The events would be held under a tent measuring 50-feet by 100-feet, in an effort to fund the Courageous Youth Program. The tent would also be used as a shelter from inclement weather during the season, according to the report.

The group's Executive Director, Dave DiLorenzo, said the group serves about 1,000 students each year, with about 40 percent of them in Charlestown, according to the report.

Courageous Sailing has requested a license to host the events with agreements and limitations approved in 2013, according to the report.
