Charlestown Mothers Association Seeks Clothing Donations

The organization is having a "Community Closet Clothing Sale" in March to benefit its efforts in Charlestown.

Article provided by the Charlestown Mothers Association:

The Charlestown Mothers Association will be hosting its first “Community Closet” clothing sale on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10:30 am - 2 pm at the Knights of Columbus on 75 West School Street.

Charlestown neighbors and friends are invited to“trade in and trade up” clothes for the whole family at this event.  Clothes will be collected through donations prior to the event and displayed “boutique style” for an easy and economical shopping experience.

There will be a $10 admission fee for a shopping bag to fill with clothes of your choice from the Community Closet (there will be a maximum of 2 bags per person).  All proceeds from the event will go to the Charlestown Mothers Association to support Community-based projects and initiatives.

Please contribute by donating very lightly worn or gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories (backpacks, pocketbooks) for all ages (children and adults).

Donations will be accepted from February 5-24 at: St Mary’s/St Catherine Rectory, Charlestown Nursery School, Child Focus Center, Bright Horizons at the Schrafft Center, Warren Prescott School, Charlestown Community Center, St John’s Church, The Cooperative Bank, Charlestown YMCA, Harvest on Vine, The Kennedy Center, Charlestown Boys & Girls Club, & St. Francis de Sales Church.

Please consider pre-sorting donations by size and gender.  No socks, undergarments, or unwashed, ripped or stained items will be accepted.  Donations will be tax deductible to the extent provided by law – any donor wanting a receipt should provide their name, street address and email address with their donation.

Please email Rebecca Love at rebeclove@hotmail.com if you’d like to get involved.
