A project change to the proposed research and office park planned for the Hood Dairy Site in Charlestown was approved by the Boston Redevelopment Authority this week, according to the Charlestown Patriot-Bridge.

The proposed project calls for a 20-acre development to transform the existing plant, located at 500 Rutherford Ave. in Charlestown, into a state-of-the-art research and office park, and this week the BRA allowed the developer to add 158,000 square feet to the warehouse on the site, according to the report.

As such, the square footage for the planned development totals to 1,168,820 square feet, with the total reduced square footage of 97,000 square feet to be applied to other projects on the property, the Patriot-Bridge reported.
