Your Guide: Watch 'Boston Brawler' Power Push 2,000 Lbs.

Medford resident Jerry Bowser will attempt to move a weighed-down wheelbarrow 210 yards in front of Sullivan's Pub on Sunday.

Ironman Jerry Bowser, aka “The Boston Brawler,” will be in Charlestown this weekend for an event to benefit two victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Bowser, a Medford resident, will attempt to power push a wheelbarrow weighing 2,000 pounds a total of 210 yards—about the length between the two bombing sites—outside Sullivan’s Pub, 85 Main St., on Sunday, Aug. 4. The event will be held at 2 p.m. and is open to all.

The 2,000-pound push is dedicated to Stoneham brothers JP and Paul Norden, who both lost a leg in the explosions on April 15.

“The Norden brothers have battled through numerous surgeries and skin grafts over the last few months from severe burns and shrapnel damage. Jerry hopes to make a difference in their lives and let them know that tough times don’t last, tough people do!” states a flyer about the event.

Bowser understands overcoming obstacles—he suffered a stroke more than a decade ago that left him temporarily paralyzed on his left side.

“Doctors told him he may never walk again, but Jerry proved them wrong and battled his way back one day at a time,” according to the flyer.

Money raised at the power push event will go to help the Norden brothers with their medical bills and long-term care needs. Donate online at gofundme.com/2pfm04.
