Alzheimer's Assoc. to Host Greater Boston Walk Kick Off at Spaulding Rehab

The event is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter on Wednesday will host its 2014 Greater Boston Walk Kick Off event at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown. 

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will signify the official kick-off of the association's walk season, as part of which more than 22,000 individuals participated throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire in 2013. 

Organizers expect more than 5,000 participants at this year's Greater Boston Walk, including families, friends and caregivers.

"Our walks are a phenomenal opportunity for people of all ages to come together and show support for our cause," James Wessler, CEO and President of the Alzheimer's Association, MA/NH Chapter, said in a statement. "As Alzheimer's continues to affect more individuals, it is important we show our unity and commitment as a community to ending this disease."
