- Residents Mixed on New Navy Yard Splashpad—On June 27, the BRA was back before the community with an updated plan that incorporated a new splashpad into the existing playground at Shipyard Park.
- Universally Accessible Park Coming to Navy Yard's Parcel 5—Plans to construct a universally accessible playground near Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital are on the fast track, with hopes of it being underway before the mayor leaves office.
- It's Official: Olives Is Leaving Charlestown—The City Square restaurant started by celebrity chef Todd English will be relocated to the greater Boston area.
- Police Reports: Man Sleeping in Navy Yard Struggles with Officers—A man who was found sleeping in the Charlestown Navy Yard on Friday, June 28 was arrested after he allegedly became combative when told to leave the area.
- Many Helped To Revive 'Mayor of Charlestown'—Thank you to all those who participated in the Townie Association's Bunker Hill Day activities.
- 'City Hall To Go' Truck To Make Regular Stops—The mobile city services program will begin a monthly rotation starting July 2, visiting Charlestown on every third Wednesday.
- Hubway Closes in on 1 Million Rides—With the reach of Boston's bicycle share system growing this year, Hubway is on track to soon cross the 1 million ride threshold.
- Final Words from Boston Schools Supt. Carol Johnson—Superintendent Carol Johnson recently gave a farewell speech about the district's accomplishments during her six years on the job.
