Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is back to sleeping at his Readville home after recuperating for several months at the Parkman House on Beacon Street.

"Mayor Menino is happy to be back staying in his own home in Hyde Park," said John Guilfoil, deputy press secretary for the Mayor's Press Office.

Guilfoil said the mayor was eagerly looking forward to his annual block party on Friday, July 12.

Menino had been staying at the Parkman House, a city-owned property, because it had elevators, which made it easier for Menino to be mobile while recuperating from elective prostate surgery in June, and a broken ankle in April.
