White House Official Meets with Charlestown Teens

Benjamin Tucker, Deputy Director of State, Local and Tribal Affairs for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)  visited Charlestown on Wednesday to discuss the Obama Administration’s newly released drug policy reform plan and efforts to reduce the prescription drug abuse epidemic.  The visit was hosted by the Charlestown Substance Abuse Coalition – a local drug free community group working to prevent drug use among young people. After meeting with residents, MGH staff and others involved with substance abuse prevention and treatment, Tucker heardlocal teens discuss their work with Turn It Around, a social marketing campaign geared toward young people that raises awareness about the harmful consequences of prescription drug abuse.
