Miss Cambridge and the Museum of Science

One of the four points to the Miss America crown represents scholarship, and true to that belief, the next Miss Massachusetts may be an individual who found her calling at the Museum of Science, Boston. Carrie Sunde has worked at the Museum since she was 14 years old when she started as a volunteer in the Discovery Center, and currently holds the title of Miss Cambridge.  She went on to become a Sci-Core intern, a High School Intern and a Youth Mentor Intern.  Carrie began at the Museum of Science as a young High School student and is now entering her senior year at Syracuse University.  She matured and thrived through our program as she formed strong relationships with her colleagues and taught many children along the way.

Carrie is currently in her sixth year working for the Museum where she is a Discovery Center Program Presenter.  She is a lead educator in the Discovery Center where she teaches basic science concepts to museum visitors, often children.  The Discovery Center offers an assortment of hands on activities that are designed to encourage learning through play.  Her time at the Museum educating and interacting with visitors inspired her to pursue Communication and Public Relations at Syracuse University.
