Good Shepherd School visits Whole Foods

The Good Shepherd School visited Whole Foods in Charlestown on October 13th for a tour of the store and some information about the different departments. We learned about how Whole Foods sells a great deal of organic food, that the prepared foods (like sausage) are made right on site, and that food comes from both plants and animals. In addition, we got to taste some juicy watermelon and white cheddar cheese. The children were very responsive to our tour guide, Ms. Hannah. Other highlights from our trip included seeing the varieties of cheese, looking at a gigantic fish, and talking with the florist. Overall the trip was a great learning experience for the children and we look forward to continuing our nutrition education with Ms. Rosanne throughout the school year.
