Swing Central At Crosby Whistle Stop, Whole Make Up and Happy Birthday Pedro

1. Today's forecast: Cool then colder; highs only reaching the mid-50s under sunny but breezy conditions then hitting freezing (32 degrees) tonight.

2. Boston Swing Central – a dancer-formed, volunteer-run organization dedicated to promoting positive and fun swing dancing experiences in Boston – will  be at Crosby Whistle Stop, 24 Roland St., tonight. Swings lessons are from 8p.m. to 9 p.m. (included with admission) Dancing will begin at 9 p.m.. Admission is $10 (general), $8 (students and seniors with valid ID).

3. Whole Foods Whole Body department will have a demonstration on its line of make up at its Charlestown store at 51 Austin St. at 11 a.m.

4. The Charlestown branch of the Boston Public Library at 179 Main St. is be holding a program for pre-schoolers called Story Time Station at 10 a.m. We're riding the reading railroad in search of some great stories, songs, and more. All ages and groups are welcome to this fun activity designed to get children excited about reading. Stay and play until 10:45. Please arrive on time as the story time room will be closed when story time starts.

5. Happy Birthday Red Sox great Pedro Martínez, born today in 1971. The pitcher won a World Series and two Cy Young Awards for the Red Sox and finished his stint in Bean Town with a 117–37 record, the highest winning percentage any pitcher has had with any team in baseball history.
