Clutter Expert Will Help You Deal with Your Stuff, Homework Help

• Are you overwhelmed with so much stuff in your house? Buried under a mound of papers and material? Are reality TV producers knocking on your door asking to film the mess in your house? Relax, help is on the way as clutter expert Dave Downs uses his upbeat and unique approach to explore the many reasons that our drawers, closets and garages are filled with stuff at a special presentation at the Charlestown branch of the Boston Public Library, 179 Main St. from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Participants will leave with tips on how to avoid burying themselves with stuff.

• How to buy and sell a home at the same time is a workshop today from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. for homeowners contemplating buying a new house but also have a property to sell. With Andrew Monticone, senior loan officer at Leader Bank and Thalia Tringo from hosts Thalia Tringo & Associates Real Estate, 128 Willow Ave., Somerville, the workshop will go over options in depth in a 45 minute session with a 30-minute Q&A to follow. Attendance is free, but RSVP Lynn@ThaliaTringoRealEstate.com to reserve a seat. Refreshments will be served. Held at the office of Thalia Tringo & Associates which is on the bike path in Davis Square.

• The Charlestown branch of the Belmont Public Library, 179 Main St., offers free drop-in homework help, academic support and mentoring available in all subject areas to students in grades K to 8 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
