The Friends of the Charlestown Navy Yard and the Charlestown Working Theater will present a "Summer Solstice" celebration on Thursday, June 20 from 5:30-7:30 PM in Shipyard Park in the Navy Yard. The park is located near Pier 4.
Entertainment will feature the Theater's Advanced Ensemble performing scenes from their recent production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and performances by CWT guitar students. Also, back by popular demand is Michael Bent, a magician known as Abrikidabra, who performed at last year's Summer Solstice.
This event is free and open to the public. Ice cream and water will be provided and you are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy during the performances.
In case of rain, the evening's performances will take place at the Constitution Museum located in the Navy Yard near the intersection of First Avenue and 5th Street. Please join us in welcoming the summer!

More About Charlestown Naval Shipyard Park
One of the Navy's oldest shipbuilding facilities, Charlestown Navy Yard is a must visit for anyone with an interest in American history. The shipyard is located at the north end of the Freedom Trail. Both the famous USS Constitution and WWI's USS Cassin Young are berthed at the shipyard and open for tour. The yard is maintained by the U.S. National Park Service and houses a Visitor's Center and gift shop.
