The Boston Public Library will be hosting the second annual Boston Storytelling Festival on Saturday, Feb 23. All ages are invited to gather around the proverbial fire for a variety of storytelling experiences—including workshops, folk and fairy tales and a “Trickster” themed slam.
9:30-11 a.m A storyteller, swashbuckler and puppeteer, Alan White has been performing for audiences of all ages for more than 20 years. Though well versed in folk and fairy tales from around the world, White's featured performance will focus on African folk story traditions.
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Traditional storytellers include: Norah Dooley, Danielle Schulman, Cindy Rivka Marshall, Andrea Lovett, Nicolette Heavey and Tony Toledo.
2-4:30 p.m. Storytellers “for the 21st century” include: Scott Schultz, Alicia Quintano, Amy Goldfarb, Peter Carcia, Cheryl Hamilton, Chuck Collins, Cindy Rivka Marshall, Daniel John, David Erik Finn, David Nevins, Devin Bramhall, Jackson Gillman, Katie Liesener, Lynn Cooper, Sandy Miller-Jacobs, Ron Goldman.
Best of all? Honoring our commitment to bring storytelling to the widest audience possible, massmouth, inc. presents this entire event free and open to the public. In order to secure a place in your workshop(s) of choice, pre-registration is strongly recommended, though not required.
