Make Christmas Cards for the Troops Overseas
Create your own Christmas cards for U.S. troops serving overseas with the Townie Association as part of the Charlestown Holiday Stroll on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet members of the Townie Association as well as create their own homemade holiday cards and write their own personal message to a solider/sailor serving the country overseas.
Please stop by either location on Dec. 1:
The Old Five & Ten Cents Savings Bank
One Thompson Square
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Charlestown Women's Club Holiday Fair
Knights of Columbus (545 Medford Street)
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Please share this event and invite all your friends.
The USS Constitution Museum is a generous sponsor and will be supplying the materials for the card crafting.
The JW Conway Bunker Hill Post 26 American Legion is also a proud sponsor and will be sending the cards to the troops.
More About Thompson Square
Thompson Square provides residents and visitors a place to catch their breath in the middle of a hectic intersection along Main Street. It's a small park that pays homage to what once was a bustling corner of commerce for historic Charlestown, but is now a spot where dog owners can take a break with their pets or for neighbors to stop and say hello to each other. From the park, you can get a good look of One Thompson Square, a Victorian Gothic structure built in 1875 just after Charlestown ceased to be an independent city and became part of Boston.
