Each week, the Animal Rescue League of Boston will feature a dog, cat or other guest of theirs you can adopt. The ARL rescues animals from Charlestown and the surrounding communities. Meet Tucker! Tucker is a very sweet and affectionate 4 year-old neutered male tricolor treeing walker hound mix that was transferred to the Animal Rescue League of Boston from another shelter. Tucker would do best in a single family home, for he likes to show his admiration for the people he loves with a loud enthusiastic bark. Though he does well with other dogs, he prefers the company of quiet dogs and even more so of human companionship. MEET WHISKERS!  Whiskers is a very unusual looking, sweet and quiet 13- year-young neutered male cat. He is a black tabby mackerel, also known as a "black smoke" which is super rare! Whiskers has been through a lot of changes lately. After his owner went into a nursing home, he was placed in a new home. However, he didn't get along with the other animals there, so now this gentle boy is looking for his forever home once and for all! Meet Betsy! Betsy is a super sweet and friendly 2 year-old spayed female cat who was left behind when her owners moved away. Like many other cats, Betsy doesn’t like to have her tail or her back scratched, but face-to-face rubs and head scratches are greatly appreciated. MEET BUDDY! Buddy is a cute four year old neutered male beagle mix looking for a loving home to call his own. Buddy loves his human companions and will gladly approach his friends for head rubs. His happy face lights up a room, and his cheerful attitude is contagious. MEET BOAZ!   Boaz is a neutered 5 year-old Jack Russell Terrier Mix. Boaz came to the shelter because his owner's health declined and was unable to care for him. MEET MABEL! Mabel is a sweet & friendly 10 month old grey and white female guinea pig. Guinea pigs are great pets for all ages! Mabel loves carrots, dark leafy greens and apples. Meet Jym, a sweet 7 year old neutered Pit Bull Mix. Here at the shelter Jym loves cuddling and hanging out with his human friends. He is one of the all time favorites of staff and volunteers. Meet Simba, a 2 year old neutered male Boxer. Simba loves to spend time with his human friends here at the shelter! He also enjoys bringing his favorite stuffed animals on walks with him. Simba has been described as the dog that isthe "most fun to play with at the shelter"!  He loves to catch toys and he is a good running partner. One of his favorite things to do is to snuggle on a lap after a nice walk and take a snooze. Simba doesn't like other dogs so he needs to be in a home where he is the only dog.
