Woman Bitten, Robbed on Green Street

Boston Police are investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in which the victim's cell phone and wallet were stolen.

Boston Police are looking for two suspects after one of them allegedly bit a woman before taking off with her cell phone and wallet on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, told police she was walking on Green Street near High Street in Charlestown at around 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19 when she was approached by two men who asked her for a cigarette. The woman was about to give the man a cigarette when he reportedly grabbed her cell phone, wallet and a Walgreens bag from her hands, then bit her left arm.

A second suspect then yelled "Just grab the cell phone!," according to reports.

"A witness in the area attempted to grab the suspects to no avail. Both suspects fled the area on foot," according to Boston Police. "Officers observed what appeared to be a bite mark and scratches on the victim’s left arm."

The two suspects were both described as white males, about 5'5", with a thin build. One man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, and the other had dark hair and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans, according to police reports.

Boston Police are currently investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District A-1 detectives at 617-343-4248.

Anyone who would prefer to help the investigation anonymously can call CrimeStoppers at 800-494-TIPS (8477) or text the word "tip" to CRIME (27463).

This will probably get someone fired up, but I have to say it: I'm sure drugs weren't a motive at all...(sarcasm). I'm sure the poor woman who was attacked by these animals is extremely shaken. I hope she's doing ok.

Get pepper spray and protect yourself. I've been nailed with pepper spray before (had to for work, believe it or not) and it sucks...big time. I hate saying this, but be on guard with every unknown person who approaches you, and don't let them break arms length.

Kudos!! This could be one of the best posts ever on The Patch. I couldn't agree with you more Townie Girl. Then again, being MA, you'll probably get sued for defending yourself with a dangerous weapon. I still love the idea though.

Like I said, pepper spray. Given a heavy enough dose, the effects can last for days, and the perpetrator won't be running anywhere (except maybe in front of a bus...), thus making it much easier for the cops to nab the scum bags. Remember a few months ago that savage beating down by BHCC? After that happened, the local police were recommending people get their permits to carry pepper spray. It's effective.

Hopefully the cops can figure this one out. The criminals don't seem to be too smart. Too many unsolved crimes against women in this town lately.

They're definitely not smart. They're junkies preying on innocent people. They run and hide because they are cowards. And you can spot them a mile away. But we're not allowed to say stuff like this because it's insensitive. They have a disease...or something like that.

That's why i had my Fiancé (26) start carrying mace (liscenced) -
Sad to say but it is necessary everywhere !! Not just here, which happens to be the safest neighborhood in the city, according to last years stats. We, as adults, have to take these community matters into our own hands to the best of our abilities. Self defense, reliance and above all, look out for one another !!
If these punks start getting a good old fashioned ass whooping, I bet they think twice about their actions!
Unfortunately as someone else said, they are "COWARDS" who run and hide in and out of the shadows.

Keep your eyes open, heads up, don't flash your phones around and be aware of your surroundings.

It's good to see a well thought out, mature response to this, and not "let's paint them different colors".

Love the idea of the spray paint, and you don't have to go thru the bother at Boston Police Hdqts. To get a license to carry it..
Just go to crafts store and get the small cans for models, easy to carry!
