This week, Visions for Vacancy turns its eyes toward a Charlestown storefront that has never had a commercial tenant.
Tim Doherty, a vice president with building owner Cornerstone Corporation, said a number of potential clients expressed interest in the 2,500 square foot space over the years, but none of them seemed quite right.
“We as landlords are ready willing and able to do a deal,” Doherty said, but only for the right kind of tenant. (We’ll have more on that early next week).
In the mean time, Cornerstone has let the Charlestown World War II History display use the space nestled between Olives and Olivia Browning of Charlestown.
He said the space is a shell that could be configured to hold any kind of business—from restaurant to gym to office space.
What do you think would be right there?

What about a "mini" version of Trader Joe's like what they have in downtown Boston?

It seems like we have a lot of agreement on this one. Would anyone like to see something other than a Trader Joe's?

TJ's is a great idea! Would also love another restaurant- just not subs or pizza. Nothing against sandwiches or pizza, I love 'em- but we have plenty of great places for those already.

Trader Joe's is a great idea, we already have fast food. Is the empty Friendly's site too small? The mall has parking, which City Square lacks.

I would love a Mexican Restaurant. Charlestown is in desperate need of more places to go out to eat!
