The Knights of Columbus are on their way to a new home on Medford Street, but they won’t occupy the whole building.
The brick structure not far from the split between Main Street, Medford Street and Bunker Hill Street still bears an “available” sign.
According to a listing from Associated Brokerage Group, the 6,500 square foot warehouse space costs $8 per square foot and could be built to fit many purposes.
What would you like to see there? Could that part of town use a restaurant or a pub? Perhaps such a big space could be something more unusual, like a rock gym. Perhaps a department store or a car dealership?
What do you think?

How about a grammar school? WP and Kent have long waitlists.

How about something that contributes toward the community, especially since this will be sharing space next to the Knights of Columbus. We dont need to introduce a drinking space (pub) into a neighborhood that doesn't have one....but definitely a community resource to improve our community and bring people together in a healthy way.

Matt, thanks for posting these vacancies, what a great idea. The Charlestown Chamber has been in constant contact with the Knights to make sure there was a great business going in the new space. We are pleased to tell you that they are currently under agreement with a very successful local business that I know is a valuable asset to the local economy. I will keep you posted with details as they develop.

I bet it won't be a nice neighborhood sports bar. Another missed opportunity for residents to have a place to go for a cheap beer and a meal. Are we supposed to believe $6.50 pints at the warren tavern are a good deal?

Ya that isn't what we need is another bar or pub in Charlestown. We already have enough and as a resident that lives in the area of the new Knights I've lived at this end of Charlestown all my life because of the fact we don't have a bar or pub here any more. There are many more choices then the Warren Tavern in this town, if you don't like the Warren try another of the local bars or pubs, they all serve food too.

Heard that Durty Harry's is moving in. Guess you could drop the dog and grab a brew.

Anyone know what's going on with the construction at the old location?
