Visions for Vacancy: A Cleaners Near Harvard Kent
Far down on the East end of Charlestown—near the Harvard-Kent school and the District A-15 police station—stands a Tuttle’s Cleaners location that will soon be vacated.
Rich McCarthy, president of next-door McCarthy Brothers’ Liquors and owner of the 5 Moulton Street Tuttle’s location, said that the cleaners will not be renewing their lease, clearing the way this fall for something new.
McCarthy said the bay has 2,100 square feet of space that’s currently mostly open.
So, what would you like to see there? The space is well away from Charlestown’s densest commercial area. It’s also in close proximity to the Harvard Kent school and the Bunker Hill Housing development.
Do you think this area needs a restaurant? A small grocery-style convenience store? Perhaps an employment education center?
What do you think?
